Our Ideal Size
The AKC defines a Standard Poodle as any poodle over 15 inches tall at the shoulder. This leaves a wide range of size possibilities, with some Standards reaching 26-27 inches tall and 70+ pounds. Our program focuses on small and moderate-sized Standard Poodles. Most of our puppies mature in the 35-55 pound range and stand 19-24 inches tall. For us, this is the sweet spot. They are:

Our breeding dogs undergo health and genetic testing, and we thoughtfully select for temperament, structure, trainability, and the moderate Standard Poodle size that fits so well into active family life.
We are intentionally large enough to offer puppies on a regular basis, yet small enough that every dog remains a valued member of our family. While availability varies, many families can expect to welcome a Desert Sky puppy within approximately six months.
